The Office for Accessible Education (OAE; formerly ODS, the Office of Disability Services) helps to facilitate access to academic courses and university programs and activities for all Loyola students, whether enrolled in on-campus or online programs. Students interested in receiving support through the Office may contact OAE staff directly.
OAE offers a number of support services to students and faculty to ensure universal accessibility of Loyola courses. Services include transcription or closed captioning of course materials, assistive technology, and test-taking support. OAE also uses the Blackboard Ally tool to ensure that content in online courses meets usability and accessibility standards.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion collaborates with organizations on campus to provide community members affected by bias a safe, secure and confidential avenue to be heard and supported. Information Technology provides current technology, prompt service, and a robust network to allow the fair, accurate and free interchange of educational content, information and ideas throughout the Loyola community and the world.
LORA (Loyola Online Records Access) is Loyola's student records system and provides access to course listings, syllabi, grades, transcripts, billing, financial aid, advising, and emergency contact information for all Loyola students and faculty. It is accessible from any web-enabled device.
LoyolaNet, a state-of-the-art computer networking system, provides access to electronic mail, news groups, home pages, mailing lists, library resources, course offerings, student records, and financial information as well as a high-speed connection to the Internet and World Wide Web. All faculty and administrative offices, classrooms, residence halls, and common study areas provide outlets for connecting personal computers to the network. Wireless network access is also provided in many areas of the campus.

The Monroe Library is a vibrant meeting place for students to learn, collaborate, and study, The library provides a variety of individual and group study spaces and classrooms, technologies, and access to a wealth of information resources such as online journals, databases, books, scores, recordings, DVDs,digital collections and archival materials that support all of the university’s programs. The Loyola Mathematics Center was established in 1981 with the original purpose of providing assistance to students in basic skills (developmental) mathematics courses.
The Office for Writing and Learning Support (OWLS) provides free academic tutoring and writing assistance for multiple disciplines. As part of the Student Success Center, OWLS works with students to develop their academic potential in relaxed atmosphere with the help of their classmates. Formerly known as the Writing Accross the Curriculum (WAC) Lab.
Online Programs
Students enrolled in online programs or distance-learning classes can submit essay drafts to OWLS for constructive review by the same peer tutors who work with on-campus students.
The Student Success Center (SSC) is committed to providing a comprehensive academic support system for a diverse student body in all undergraduate colleges.
The success coaching and academic advising services offered to undergraduate students through the SSC are available to all Loyola first-year students, whether enrolled in on-campus or online programs. Information on services offered for students studying by distance is available by contacting the SSC staff directly.
The Loyola University New Orleans Upward Bound Program is a federally funded program that falls under the national umbrella of TRiO Programs.
Whelan Children’s Center is a high quality childcare program for the children of the faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The center, located on Loyola’s campus, provides a safe and stimulating educational environment with a highly qualified, experienced, nurturing staff.
The Women's Resource Center fosters an intersectional community of feminists advancing gender equality through education and empowerment. Through our Feminist Forum magazine, we seek to educate ourselves and others through critical analysis of struggles for gender equity. Trained advocates in our center serve survivors of gender violence and persons confronting gender discrimination. Our programming team, in collaboration with a variety of departments, student organizations, and local and national partners, offer opportunities for intellectual, personal, and professional development that advance gender equity, including Take Back the Night in the fall and Feminist Festival in the spring. In all our work, we seek to embody Loyola’s social justice mission.
